With our extensive experience with 3D BIM we were able to work within very tight on site tolerances. The tiered seating steel work had to fit in around existing concrete walls with minimal edge distances. We used in house 3D BIM to detail the workshop drawings for the structural steel. We also supplied additional stee lwork to the existing structure i.e. roof ring beam, stairs, balustrades, lintels, door frames etc.
There were over 1200 drawings for this project with over 370 beam drawings and 110 column drawings. The column drawings in particular were very complex because of all the connecting beams coming in at different angles and heights. More than 400 chemical anchors were installed on site to a tolerance of +/- 1mm. Our fabricators and erectors handled this with ease. All steel work was to be mechanical cleaned and undercoated.
The project was delivered on time and on budget.
